Gaming world Windows 10 usage is already ahead of competitors on steam

Steam updated its Survey for last month, the good market share news seen by Microsoft this past month is all the more apparent in the world of gamers. Although Windows share overall dipped slightly on Steam, Windows 10 usage has exploded into double digits.

In fact, even though it has only been released for over a month, Windows 10 already has more share on Steam than Windows 8, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. It is also unsurprisingly ahead of Mac OS X and Linux, neither of which gets much attention from gamers. All Windows 10 has left to conquer is Windows 8.1 (which it will easily do by the end of the year) and Windows 7 (will probably take a while longer).

Breaking down the numbers even more, here is how each operating system version fared:

On the whole, Windows still dominates Steam over 95 percent share. Nonetheless, Mac and Linux saw minor gains in August, up 0.09 points and 0.07 points respectively.

The fact Windows 7 fell so quickly under the 50 percent mark perfectly illustrates how eager gamers are to adopt the latest and greatest from Microsoft. We can’t help but wonder how many of the 75 million PCs already on Windows 10 are Steam users, but it looks to be a significant number. It would appear that gamers like free upgrades just as much as anyone else.

Customer review – Advance Computer Solutions – David Richardson – I managed to drop my external hard drive on the floor in the middle of a back up! I would not work from thereon. I tried one other place before I found Advance. He was very good. He was able to recover all of my images quickly and had a good customer service. I was extremely nervous to trust someone with this project but he exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended to anybody.

My iMac has started to make a noise, is the fan the possible problem?

  • The original issue of the abnormal noise coming from the cooling system has not been found

Summary

  • The issues above that we can find, is more than likely to be the cause of the system fan being noisy due to bad files over using the resources
  • It is now a case of whether you would like me to carry out this repair which I do regard as very urgent and have the system back either tonight or tomorrow and should the noisy fan return, I can take a visit at your home and carry out some additional work as there may be a certain program combination or other configurations variables which differ from being here at the workshop, but hardware wise the fans are stable and working efficiently
  • More than likely faults that have been found are related to this intermittent issue and resolving this will resolve your problem but if these are not looked into your system will sustain far more damage to its core software in the near future

Qutation

For the repair to be carried out, here is an itemised list of what needs to be done;

  • Manual removal of all damaging software – £65
  • Repair of the software already damaged – £20-£70 dependant on severity, I will not know the severity until this is started
  • Preventative action (not necessary for the actual repair but highly advised so it doesn’t end up in this situation again) £40

£30.00 Investigation Fee, should you not wish for us to carry out the repair
