Windows XP Discontinued
Windows XP Discontinued – As of from April the 8th 2014 on Microsoft no longer offers support for their Windows XP operating system. From this date on there will be no further updates from Microsoft. Newly discovered vulnerabilities will no longer be fixed. There has been misinformation regarding this and sometimes even scare tactics about what this means for you. This gives you the opportunity to make an informed decision whether you want to continue using Windows XP or whether you need to upgrade to a more recent O/S.
Most business that have remained with XP will upgrade to 7. Business who haven’t upgraded to a modern operating system and they find their customer database has been exploited due to exploits via a discontinued operating system may be liable to a fine. Areas running older Server versions have probably been keeping up, and will not be affected for the most part.
